Robert Hope and Anna R. Japaritze. Georgia. 2024. 26’
The only road leading to the mountainous region of Tusheti, in the Caucasus of Georgia, remains closed for seven months in the winter due to snow. Most villagers descend into the valleys, but some of them stay behind, completely isolated. A close-knit and interdependent group, they navigate intergenerational conflict, the remnants of the Soviet Union and uncertainty about the future of their community.
