Round table: THE ROLE OF TRAIL RUNNING AND OUTDOOR SPORTS IN THE TRANSITION TOWARDS A MORE SUSTAINABLE FUTURE
Trail running is a sport deeply rooted in nature, but it can also generate an environmental impact. In recent decades, this sport has grown significantly, and this challenges us as a community that values and defends natural spaces: how can we lead real change? The European project The Green Trail Concept, promoted by the Kilian Jornet Foundation, aims to address this challenge by creating a certification system for trail running races, helping make them more responsible and sustainable.
This round table, featuring contributions from several key figures in the trail running world—will explore how initiatives like this, and others, can help transform the sport not only environmentally, but also socially and economically.
Speakers: Anna Estella (Deputy Director General of Environmental Education, Nature and the Natural Environment), Gil Erra (Coordinator of the Nature Department of the FEEC), Aniol Pujiula (Mountain runner), Ramón Malkorra (Head of the Environment Department of Zegama) and Lambert Guix (Organizer of the Camí dels Matxos race).
Moderator: Laura Viñals (Head of Communication and Projects of the KJF).

Talk: THE PYRENEAN 3000ers, THE FIRST LIST CREATED USING HIGH-PRECISION TOPOGRAPHIC METHODS
After a brief hiatus in Corsica, compiling the list of the island's two thousanders, Sostremetries returns home to continue combing the Pyrenees in search of new three thousanders, drawing up a new list based on precise and rigorous topographic measurements.
Sostremetries is an association formed by five mountain-loving surveyors. With the aim of raising awareness of their profession, they have launched this project, in which peaks are measured using precision topographic techniques.

In January 2015, Eudald Solà –biologist, naturalist and photographer- a friend and regular attendee of the Festival- died in a mountain accident. Ten years after his passing, we wanted to revive the exhibition that was held during the 2016 Festival.
The exhibition aims to show the animals that usually remain hidden from the hikers, which Eudald Solà captured through the lens of his camera.
