The talk includes the screenig of the documentary HOME TO HOME about her last challenge in the last June 24: to link in only one race the Carros de Foc race with the Cavalls del Vent.

Nuria Picas’s life has always been tied to nature and sport. In Montserrat she discovered her passion for mountain but a climbing accident forced her, recommended by doctors to stop racing. She could never run again. Against all odds, however, she began to run slowly and in 2011 she took part for the first time, in an ultratrail. Then she began her sporting career success:

Double champion of the Ultra Trail World Tour (2014, 2015)
Champion of the Skyrunner Ultra World Series (2012)
Two times winner of the Transgrancanaria
Two times runner-up at the Ultra Trail of Mont Blanc

With the presentation, a talk about: "Els llibres de muntanya tenen cos i ànima" will take place. 

Dr. Miquel Ylla Borés Cardiologist was born in Vic in 1948. Pushed at young age by his father, he started in sports related to the mountain, fishing and hiking initially, later skiing and rock climbing. In the mid-60s began to acquire books related on mountain, thus initiating a collection that now has about 10,000 volumes. The book that he presents is his third published. In 2006 he won the Prize for the Best Article in the Torelló Mountain Film Festival.

LECTURE

_ CLIMATE CHANGE IN THE GLACIERS OF THE PYRENEES

The aim is to discover, through comparative images from the last 30 years, the decline and extinction of the glaciers in the Pyrenees.

Jordi Camins was born and lives in Igualada. Professionally engaged in economics and business administration since 1982 and part of his time is spent in observing and monitoring glaciers around the world and the disclosure that the climate change effects make to the planet.

Mountaineer and skier, has been awarded with the 2012 Environment Award of the Generalitat of Catalonia for monitoring glaciers in the Pyrenees. He collaborates with the University of Zaragoza and others in Europe, with the Advisory Council for Sustainable Development of the Generalitat and he is a member of the Expert Group on Climate Change in Catalonia. He is the author of numerous articles and various publications on the phenomenon of glaciers regression.

His life and literary world are the Pyrenees, a universe that he has turned in legendary.

Josep Coll i Martin, known as Pep Coll was born in Pessonada (Pallars Jussà) in 1949. Degree in Arts he has dedicated many years in teaching while he cultivated all literary genres - fiction children and youth theatre, essay, novel and also journalism.
Mountain passionate, he moved this passion into his literary work, reaching to create its own universe and deeply rooted in the land.

Among his well-known works are included: El salvatge dels Pirineus (Sant Joan Prize, 2005), Les senyoretes de Lourdes (Sant Jordi Prize, 2007) o Dos taüts negres i dos de blancs (Crexells Prize and Catalan Critics Prize, among others, in 2014).

Within an inflatable dome, projection on constellations, solar system planets, nebulae, galaxies etc.

Length per session: 20-30 minutes
Capacity: between 25 to 30 people
Audience: general, children and families

The aim is to acquire knowledge about the astronomical orientation, how to determine the time of year based on the observation of the sky and that children and adults understand that the absence of artificial light on a top of a mountain makes that admire stars is a unique experience.

In the planetary will be explained what the constellations are, how they change throughout the year, the moon ... The ways in which people have made use of the sky to guide us, to measure time or to inspire tales and exciting stories. Finally there will be a small trip around the Solar System planets.
